Kurtis C. Kramp passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008 peacefully in Hospice surrounded by his family. Born June 24, 1961 in Toledo, he was the son of William and Beverly Kramp. Kurt was a graduate of Rogers High School where he was active in the music program and played varsity tennis. While in high school, he started working at Westowne Tennis Club where he did everything from court maintenance, to working the desk, to teaching lessons with the professional staff. He played local tournaments, was in many court times and team leagues and truly valued the lifelong friends that he made through tennis. Kurt graduated from the University of Toledo with an engineering degree in computer science. He was a member of the tennis team and Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. For many years he has continued to bowl in a league with his fraternity brothers and friends. This guys night out was the highlight of his week. Kurt worked as a computer consultant/network engineer for several different Toledo companies. He was currently employed by CNWR, Inc. where he really enjoyed the daily challenges of working on different computer systems. He loved his work and felt that his coworkers and clients were more like good friends. Kurt really loved to travel and always looked forward to a little getaway, whether it was the yearly trips to Hilton Head or Up north, to weekends in Chicago with friends, or his lifes dream trip of an Alaskan cruise which he and Julie did twice. From the time he was a young boy he was a big Miami Dolphins fan and stuck with them in good times and bad. He especially loved to entertain at home, always the grill chef, a cocktail in hand and maybe a cigar, surrounded by the family and friends that he loved and cherished. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife Julie, his mother Beverly Kramp, sister Karynlynn and her husband John Hunt, nephew J.W., niece Alyx, and Julies family who loved him as one of their own. Services will be private at his request. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any tributes be made to the Toledo Zoo, of Kurt and Julies favorite places.
