Kun Lu, 75 years of age, died at 7:30 pm, on June 23, 2012 in Toledo, Ohio, USA. He was born in China on March 1, 1937, graduated from Tongji University, Shanghai, China in 1958, and was a professor in Fuzhou University, Fujian, China. He is a well-known expert on environmental engineering and invented a biological method to remove cyanic compounds from waste water. His method is widely used in factories in China and he has received many awards for his work. He is survived by his wife, Chaoying Cheng; son, Prof. Jian-yu Lu; daughter-in-law, Dr. Li Lin; daughter, Jingwen Lu; son-in-law, Ming Lin, and three grandchildren: Shuting Lin, Alex A. Lu, and Emily Lynn Lu. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 1-2:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
