Kimberly Ann Martin (Sullivan), age 69, of Holland, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2025. Kim is a beloved wife of John Martin; devoted mother of Paige (Shayne) Rowlands; cherished grandmother of William Rowlands; loving sister to Greg (Jodi) Sullivan, Michele Sullivan, Lisa (John) Corrothers, Stu (Joan) Love, and sister-in-law to Sue (Tom) Snow; a dear aunt to Lindsay (Jake) Moore, Haley (Bryan) Johnson, John Corrothers, Steve (Megan) Corrothers, Ann (Mark) Schmidt, Kate (Brandon) Holle, Mary (Andrew) Hudgens, Melanie (Brian) Houts and Brooke (Kaveh) Danesh. Kim was also a special great aunt to 18 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack Sullivan and Bette Sullivan Love (Meyer).
Although we lost Kim too soon, she lived life to the fullest with the kindest heart and the brightest spirit. She loved to have fun, but what she loved more was to ensure that others had fun. She was a giver, not a receiver, and would find joy in spoiling all of the kids in her immediate and extended family. She never met a stranger, loading groceries in an elderly lady’s car in the Kroger parking lot. She offered a helping hand before you realized you even needed it, monetarily, physically, and emotionally.
Growing up she spent her time outdoors, running around Coder Road with her siblings and friends. If she wasn’t riding her horse “Bud,” she was playing in the creek with her sisters, cleaning the barn with her older brother, playing “school” with her younger brother, as well as sledding and ice-skating in the winter with lifelong friends. She became very involved in 4-H throughout childhood and up until college, sewing aprons and dresses as well as winning titles such as “Junior Grand Champion” in Horsemanship at the Lucas County Fair.
She went on to study at the Ohio State University and became a Dental Assistant until she met her beloved husband of 37 years. Together, they traveled, socialized, and spent their summers at Rebeck and Devils Lake until her favorite era started- motherhood. She spent her years as a homemaker, raising her only daughter, keeping an organized house with decorations that looked like they could be out of a magazine, preparing home-cooked meals, and overall ensuring that her family was well cared for.
She was so gracious of her time and energy with volunteering at St. Joan of Arc elementary school, her involvement at Devils Lake Yacht Club, and all the little things in between. Her generosity, compassion, and empathy were poured into her relationships as a devoted caregiver to her mother, listening ear to her family, and supportive friend to all.
She will be remembered for the kind, genuine, fun, faithful, and strong person she was. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her name to these meaningful charities: The American Brain Foundation ( www.americanbrainfoundation.org ) and Akron Children’s Hospital Genetics Division ( www.akronchildrens.org ).
