Kimberley Marie Black

October 15, 1959 — March 21, 2026

Kimberley Marie Black, age 66, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on March 21, 2026, after a courageous 20+ month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on October 16, 1959, in Toledo, Kim lived a life centered on love, and family. She married her soul mate, Jim, on January 16, 1987, and together they built a life full of laughter, and memories.

Kim was a proud and loving wife, mother, and "Gramma Amazon," a nickname that perfectly captured her larger-than-life love for her family. She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Natalie M. Black, Nicole (Shaun) Borer Tremba, and Avery (Savannah) Black; and her stepdaughters, Jessica Black, Melissa Black (partner Zack Schweikart), and Rachel (Travis) Cross, all of whom she loved as her own. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Cindy Skaggs, Brenda Barnes, and Donna Cahill, and her brother, Donald Speweik.

Her greatest joy came from her ten grandchildren, Kenzie, Madison, Ben, Cass, Hannah, Johnathan, Jacob, Lincoln, Alden, and Isabella, who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Donna Speweik.

Kim graduated from Bowsher High School in 1977. Her career began at Dominics where she met Jim. Over the years she served as a Benefits Coordinator at Antea, The Bunn Corporation, and ProMedica. She also worked with Mueller Industries as part of the HR team, where she handled payroll, benefits, and new hire training.

Kim's life was rich with simple joys and meaningful traditions. She loved spending time with family and friends in Toledo, Springfield, and Memphis, where the annual family reunions, "Hermfests" created memories that will be treasured forever. She enjoyed dancing with Jim, gardening, shopping, dining out, and preparing holiday feasts that brought everyone together.

Known for her quick wit and vibrant personality, Kim never hesitated to speak her mind, always with love. She will be remembered as a caring and devoted wife, mom, grandma, and sister who brought people together with her humor, warmth, and unconditional love.

Above all, she will be deeply missed for her incredible cooking, her infectious sense of humor, and the way she made everyone feel at home.

The family would like to thank the following people for all the help and love they offered for Kim through her struggle: Dr. David Macari and his office staff, the wonderful nurses and staff at Flower Hospital's Hickman Cancer Center, Erin and Chris from Ohioans, and Debbie from Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
