Kevin Stuart O'Brien

Kevin Stuart O'Brien, age 57, passed away suddenly on July 3, 2026, in Valparaiso, Indiana, at his residence.

Kevin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 5, 1969, to John and Ruth O'Brien. Kevin graduated from Sylvania Southview High School in 1987. He attended Bowling Green University majoring in business. Kevin's outgoing personality was an asset at the many jobs he held landing at the Cleveland Cliffs Steel Mill in Burns Harbor, Indiana, where he was employed at the time of his death. Kevin was known as a passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed a game in person last season with his brother, Pat, and niece, Erin. He loved spending time walking his beloved dog, Molly, and recent dog, Dudley. Kevin spent hours on the dunes at Lake Michigan and took stunning photographs of sunsets and sunrises over the lake. Kevin was always up for an adventure including skiing with his son and family, trips to Disney, playing golf, and enjoying life. Kevin loved debating politics with his son and anyone who would listen.

Kevin was the proud father of his only child, Kevin, II, who is married to Kayla (Denvit), and the grandfather of two, Scarlett and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen (Edwards), and his father, John O'Brien. Kevin is survived by his mother, Ruth O'Brien, his brother J Pat and wife Carin (Seyler) O'Brien with their five children, Ian, Matt, Hannah, Erin and Ethan; his sister, Maureen and husband Matt Schenk and their two sons, Matthew and Liam; and his brother, Douglas.

Kevin will be missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday July 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
