Kevin R. Minier, 68, of Oak Harbor, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born on November 24, 1952 in Port Clinton to C. Russell and M. Virginia (Cover) Minier. Kevin worked as an iron worker for Local #55 from 1973-2004 when he retired. He also served as a Union Steward at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant and as the E.M.S. Chief for Carroll Township for many years. Kevin enjoyed hunting and having a good time. He would do anything for you and if he couldn’t do it himself, he would find a way to get it done for you. He really loved his dogs, including current dog, Daise. Kevin is survived by his daughters, Brandy Wittman and Emmy (Les) Bowyer both of Oak Harbor, granddaughters, Sydney and Abigayle Bowyer, nieces, Rachel Dickey and Brooke Sandwisch, and nephew, Steven Strausbaugh. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Strausbaugh. Special thanks to Patty Shanteau for being so good to our dad. Also, thanks and appreciation to Chad and Andy Thompson for helping dad when he needed it. Visitation for Kevin will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St. Oak Harbor, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Per the Governor’s order, facial coverings and social distancing are required for both the visitation and funeral services. Memorial contributions in memory of Kevin can be given to Sister of St. Francis, Tiffin, OH or the Ottawa County Humane Society.
