Kevin Luffy, age 34, formerly of Toledo, passed away February 7, 2017 at his home in Columbus, Ohio. He was born April 3, 1982 in Toledo to Michael and Mary Ellen (Sahadi) Luffy. A 2000 graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School, Kevin was an accomplished distance runner in both cross country and track, earning All-City Honors his Senior year. He was committed to his teammates and made friends for life. Kevin was employed as a line supervisor at Ryder Assembly in Columbus. Highly intelligent, he was an excellent problem solver and made any position he held his own. Kevins favorite job of all time was working as a companion to his cousin, Chad. An avid reader, he was a friend to any bookstore and was a harsh movie critic who regularly shared his movie reviews with anyone who would listen. Kevin loved all types of music, especially Bob Dylan, and enjoyed traveling. His favorite trip was to Seoul, South Korea on a visit with his brother and Myrtle Beach, SC was his home away from home. Kevin will be lovingly remembered for his compassion and his witty personality. Left to cherish his memory are his parents; brother, Brad (Abigail) Luffy; grandmother, Natalie Brenot; grandfather, Robert Brenot; uncle, Howard (Karen) Luffy; several cousins; and close friends, Brian and Ally Rumer and Conner McCarthy. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Sam and Ellen Sahadi and Howard and Nancy Luffy. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where a scripture service and sharing of memories will be held at 7:00 p.m. Services will begin with prayers in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 and proceed to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3011 Carskaddon, Toledo, for funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Tuition Assistance Program at St. Francis DeSales High School, 2323 W. Bancroft St., Toledo, OH 43607 or a charity of the donors choice.
