Kevin Michael Koch, age 68, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on January 6, 2025, at Spring Creek Nursing Center in Green Springs, Ohio. Kevin was born on May 20, 1956, in Port Clinton to Melvin and Clarie (McAfee) Koch.
A proud 1974 graduate of Port Clinton High School, Kevin furthered his education by earning an Associates of Business degree from Terra Technical College in Fremont, Ohio. Following his studies, he began a long and fulfilling career at EpCo in Fremont as a purchaser, dedicating 33 years to the company. After EpCo merged with Brown Machine in Michigan, Kevin moved to Michigan where he continued his career for an additional 10 years before retiring.
Kevin had an unwavering passion for sports, especially Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns. He was always eager to share his thoughts on sports and politics, enjoying spirited conversations with those around him. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, and relished their company. He had a quirky sense of humor, always tinged with sarcasm.
A lover of good food, Kevin enjoyed indulging in delicious meals. He was an avid fan of the History Channel and documentaries. He especially loved watching the popular show Yellowstone, finding joy in its stories.
Kevin is survived by his siblings: Beverly Miller, Randy Koch, Janine (David) Howell, Vicki Snyder, Jerry (Robin) Koch; his stepbrother, Alan (Kara) Wyckoff; his stepmother, Sandra Koch; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Clarie, and his brother, Tim Koch.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Kevin’s honor can be made to the Port Clinton Friends of the Cemetery, 324 E. 11th Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
