Kermit I. Freimark, 78, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Genoa, died peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest of Ohio, Perrysburg. Kermit was born February 21, 1931, to Lester and Hazel Witty Freimark in Martin, Ohio. He served our country during the Korean war and was a member of the Genoa American Legion Post #324. Before retiring, Kermit worked for the Genoa Banking Company. He had also served as President of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in organizing the 1968 Genoa Centennial Celebration. Kermit was a member of the Genoa Area Senior Citizens and the SPEBSQSA, a barbershop quartet organization. Kermit was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Eileen Sautter. He is survived by his wife, Sally, daughters, Brenda Stiefel, Cynthia Kreager, Barbara John Anderson, and Linda Stoddard, sons, David and Douglas Freimark; sister, Maxine Dunn and brother, Dr. Lyle Marilyn Freimark, as well as 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and his beloved friend, Chick Shields. Kermit so loved his routine trips to Genoa to visit all his friends. He will be missed by many. His life will be celebrated Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4th Main Streets, Genoa. The family will receive guests starting at 11:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions for Kermit may be made to the family. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements. Pax Vobiscum.
