Kermit Bender, Jr.

Kermit Bender Jr. 77, of Fremont, OH passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 01, 2009 at his residence. He was born on April 17, 1932 in Sandusky, OH, the son of Kermit W. and Eulalia Reiter Bender Sr. On February 27, 1960 in Fremont, OH, he married Wilma Oestriech and she preceded him in death on November 17, 1993. Kermit worked as a farmer and also owned and operated the Auto Village West dealership. He delivered milk for 23 years. Kermit served in the U. S. Army at Fort Richardson, Alaska, during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, OH and the V.F.W. He loved gardening and farming. Kermit will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Sons: Michael Shelly Bender of Burgoon, OH; Mark Lynn Bender of Burgoon, OH and Greg Carol Bender of Charlotte, NC,; Brothers: John Carol Bender of Fremont, OH, Robert Bender of Clyde, OH, David Janet Bender of Fremont, OH and Joseph Virginia Bender of Redlands, CA; Sisters: Mary Norman Frey of London, OH, Sheila Lucas of Newberry Springs, CA, Kathleen Bender of Newark, OH and Regina Holland of Columbus, OH; Special Friends: Edith Helms of Fostoria, OH and Elizabeth Key of Parma, OH; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Step-Grandchildren;4 Step-Great-Grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-mother: Mary Francys Reiter Bender;sister: Dorothy Ann Zitzelberger; sister-in-law: Gail Bender and brother-in-law: Richard Lucas. Visitation will be 2-4 6-8PM, Sunday, October 04, 2009 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Genoa, OH. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00AM, Monday, October 05, 2009 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, OH.
