Kenneth John Zimerle

Kenneth John Zimerle, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Maumee, Ohio. He was born on September 14, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Gilbert and Grace (Hoopes) Zimerle. Ken worked as an electronic technician and was a Korean War veteran. All his life, he had a passion for designing, building and flying RC airplanes. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia (Flick); son, David (Kelly); daughter, Ann (Don) Kohntopp; son, Thom (David Caffo); son, John (Cyndi); 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Fred Zimerle and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio. Interment to follow at St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
