Kenneth F Wilson

February 27, 1928 — February 15, 2014

Kenneth Frederick Wilson passed over into Jesus's loving arms and entered his heavenly home on February 15, 2014. He was born to Fred and Hazel (Richards) Wilson in Owosso Michigan on February 27, 1928. After school he enlisted in the Army and served his country during WWII, as Military Police. Ken was awarded the Victory Medal. Kenneth worked at Toledo Edison as an equipment operator for 42 years until his retirement. He also volunteered for 6 yrs. with St. Charles Mercy Hospital. In his earlier years he loved to hunt and fish. He had a great passion for sports, he was a die hard Michigan Wolverine fan and also loved the Detroit Lions and Tigers and The Toledo Mud Hens. For 20 years he was an active member of the Lakewood Church of the Brethren. Ken loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He enjoyed traveling to upper state Michigan staying in cabins on small lakes. He also traveled to Florida, Washington State, Las Vegas, Iowa and South Carolina. Ken loved Mt Rainer and the Pacific Ocean. On August 26, 1977 he married Jeanette Ticheff. They were married for 34 years until her death in 2011. Kenneth is survived by his two children, Julie Wilson-Knight (Rodney) of Auburn WA, Scott Wilson of Yakima, WA; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; step daughters, Brenda Roberts (Mike) of TN, Sandy Myers (Oscar) of Iowa, Devin Jenkins (Gary) of FL, his five step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren. sister, Phyllis Allen (Jim) of Owosso MI; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite aunt, Dorothy Back of Owosso MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; and siblings, Margaret Jones, Don Wilson, and David Furgeson. Friends will be received in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home Walbridge (419-666-3121) on Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 10am until the time of services at 2pm. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Wood Co. Humane Society.
