Kenneth L Smith

Kenneth “Kenny” L. Smith, 72, of Walbridge, passed away surrounded by his family February 25, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Kenny was born July 11, 1944 to Raymond and Irene (George) Smith in Toledo. Kenny married Lucille M. DeStazio on September 10, 1966 in Genoa. He worked at Johnnies Electric Service in Elmore, was a village administrator for the Village of Walbridge for 27 years, and also worked at Walnut Hills Mobile Home Park. Kenny was a member of St. Jerome’s Parish and was an auxiliary member of VFW Post #9963. He was a Village Council Member for the Village of Walbridge from 2003 to 2007. Kenny was an active fireman for 27 years for the Walbridge – Lake Township Fire Department and retired in 1989. Kenny is survived by his wife Lucille M. (DeStazio) Smith; son Jeffrey Smith; siblings Norman (Joyce) Smith, Raymond (Mary) Smith, Terry (Mona) Smith, Pam Smith, Linda (Tom) Wildman; many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Irene Smith; his siblings Donald and Marvin Smith and Marlene Workman. Friends are welcome to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Services will be held next day at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home Thursday March 2, 2017 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
