Kenneth L. Newton, 60, passed away, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Luther Home of Mercy, surrounded by his siblings.. Ken was born on August 11, 1958 in Port Clinton. He was the youngest of six children and was born with Down’s Syndrome. That extra chromosome was pure love. A love for life, his family, his work and almost everyone he met. He always had a smile and a hug for anyone who needed one. He loved going out to eat, his favorite Bob Evans, his meal always ending in a piece of chocolate silk pie, which he always ordered halfway through his meal. Ken loved music, bowling, trips with his family and his birthday was always a favorite time to celebrate. He lived to go to work at Riverview Workshop and never wanted to miss. He worked there for over 35 years, before dementia took its toll. Ken also had a strong faith and loved attending church with his sister Sue and brother-in-law Dave, while he lived with them and also enjoyed participating in the services at the Luther Home. Ken spent his last years at the Luther Home of Mercy and the family is forever grateful for the love and dedication of the staff there who took care of him. Ken is survived by his sister Peggy Ann (Ron) Bauman of Lakeside, sister Linda Sue (David) Sorg, sister Michelle Marie (Terry) Fitzthum, brother, James Wellington (Judy) Newton all of Port Clinton and sister-in-law Linda Sue Newton of Findlay.
