Kenneth M. Herwat

Kenneth M. Herwat, 61, of Oak Harbor, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, Sandusky, OH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 8, 1955 in Toledo to Robert and Patricia (Kurdys) Herwat. On October 10, 1992 in Toledo he married Donna McNelley, and she survives. Ken worked as a truck driver for Omni Source Corp. for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, jet skiing, and especially bowling, which he previously bowled in several leagues and bowled a couple 300 games. He really enjoyed his custom golf cart and making upgrades to it. He also enjoyed to BBQ and was known for his delicious ribs. Ken will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his loving wife, Donna, of 24 years, Ken is survived by his daughter, Kristy Herwat, step-daughter, Mellisa Cole, sisters, Susan (Ray) Beneteau and Tina Stamm, nieces, and great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life for Ken will be held at Carroll Township Hall, 11080 W. Toussaint E. Rd., Oak Harbor on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2-7 p.m. Memorial contributions in memory of Ken may be given to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor is assisting the family with arrangements.
