Kenneth “Kenny” Layman, 93, of Ruskin, FL and formerly Oak Harbor, OH passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa, FL. He was born on February 11, 1927 in Woodville, OH to Gotlieb and Ella (Tillie) Layman. On June 25, 1949 in Genoa, OH he married Emelia Rollheiser-Lauer and she preceded him in death in 2008 Kenny served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Kenny worked for Roadway Express for 28 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Ruskin, FL and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Kenny is survived by his step-son, Martin (Carol) Lauer of Rochester Hills, MI, brother, Ralph (Joannne) Layman of Baton Rouge, LA, sister, Gladys Lutes of Northwood, OH, and step-daughter-in-law, Janice Lauer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-sons, Jake and Gerald (Jeanne) Lauer, brothers, Willard, Russell and Dennis Layman, and sisters, Mildred Gregg, Eileen Huffman, Geraldine Grindstaff and Phyllis Layman. Due to the Coronavirus CDC recommendations, Graveside Services will be conducted privately.
