Ken Kuhn, 71, passed away in his home Monday, September 20, 2021 with his wife at his side. Ken was born April 25, 1950 in Toledo to Mary Alice Witte and Harold Tracy Kuhn. After graduating from Anthony Wayne High School in 1969, he served in the Marines for three years and did one tour in Vietnam, Okinawa, and Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. His eldest daughter was born in the naval base hospital during his time in service. In 1971, Ken married his high school sweetheart Jennifer Louise Kuhn (Gross). After the military he worked at Gross Electric at the wholesale counter downtown, then at the store on Woodville road. He left for a time to work as an electrician for Fred Hott Electric. He eventually got a job in sales with Hubbell Wiring Devices, Inc. That job fit him to a tee, because that’s who he was; he could sell you everything from the idea of helping him with a project to listening to a bad joke. He had varied interests throughout his life including running marathons, coaching several youth soccer teams, classic cars, and watching Red Wings hockey. He valued his time with family and friends and he was especially proud of his daughters. He was a fixture with the local breakfast crowd. You could rely on him to be working on multiple handyman projects, especially around his house and his daughter’s barn - but he would have helped you, too, if you asked. Vacations were a priority for him and highlights include renting an RV and driving out west with the family, including 3 dogs, and wintering in Florida with his wife. He never shied away from adventure such as white water rafting and even later in life ziplining with his granddaughter on a trip to Kentucky. This summer he and Jennifer enjoyed several trips together in their new trailer. Halloween was a favored holiday, especially these last years at their RV camp. He loved giving a good scare as much as telling a good joke and will be remembered by many for his pranks and jump scares. He will be missed for his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, daughters Jeanette, Becki (Jay Barman), and Jessica, granddaughter Eve, his sisters Joyce Robinson and Emma Mapes, and his brothers Harold and Larry Kuhn. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother Charles. The celebration of life will be held Saturday September 25, 2021 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home at 222 E. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419) 874-3133.
