Kenneth "Kenny" L. Harvey

Kenneth L. Harvey, 95, of Oak Harbor, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Maple Crest Assisted Living in Bucyrus, OH. He was born on January 5, 1925 in Ronceverte, WV to Clarence C. and Ora (Crone) Harvey. Kenny served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On October 18, 1947 in Oak Harbor he married Jean K. Held, and after 68 wonderful years of marriage, she preceded him in death on July 28, 2016. Kenny worked for Standard Products in Port Clinton for 31 ½ years before retiring in 1987. He also worked for J.W. Weller Co of Oak Harbor as a machine repairman for 8 years and was a longtime assistant at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Oak Harbor. Kenny was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, life member of the V.F.W. Post #8732 of Oak Harbor, Ottawa County V.F.W. Council, Oak Harbor Tree Commissioner, and a life member of the Riverview Nursing Home Auxiliary, where he always enjoyed fixing their sewing machines. He also enjoyed playing in the Monday Morning Oak Harbor Golf Club Senior Golf League. Kenny is survived by his children, David L. Harvey of Toledo, Scott H. (Yvonne) Harvey of Bucyrus, Thomas A. (Tracy) Harvey of Oak Harbor, and Janet K. Harvey of Oak Harbor, and four grandchildren, Nicholas (Katie) Harvey, Nathan (Laura) Harvey, Caitlyn (finace’Adam Harder) Harvey, Garrett Harvey, and great grandchildren, Kaylin Detwiler, Verity, Kinsley, and Noah Harvey. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Eugene, Melvin, and Lawrence Harvey, sister, Margarete Grier, brother and sister in laws, Donald & Lois Held and Paul & Marjorie Anderson. Private funeral services for Kenny will be conducted at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor with burial to follow in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor with military graveside services conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Kenny can be given to Maple Crest Assisted Living, Bucyrus, OH or Avita Hospice, Bucyrus, OH.
