Kenneth Guy “Ken” Kamm, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his family on October 16, 2025. He was born in Toledo on November 20, 1939, to Harold and Grace (Carpenter) Kamm.
Ken was a calm and steady presence, known for his peaceful spirit, friendly nature, and ability to find the bright side of any situation. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. Above all, he loved his family and was a devoted husband and father who took great joy in the people closest to him.
On August 10, 1963, Ken married Darla Dawn Gerding, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage until her passing in 2008. They had three wonderful children together Christina, Michael and Suzette. In 2014, he married Sharon (Hazlewood) Schaub, who survives him and with whom he shared a later chapter of love, companionship, and travel.
A proud mechanical engineer, Ken built a respected career in both aerospace and automotive engineering before co-founding Applied Technologies, Inc. His work reflected the same calm, precision, and optimism that defined his character.
Ken loved to travel, both across the country and abroad, or through his time living in Florida, which he fondly remembered. He also treasured time at his cottage on Middle Bass Island, where he enjoyed fishing, relaxing by the water, and making memories with family. A lifelong enthusiast of drag racing, Ken appreciated the thrill of the track as much as the peace of the lake.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Grace; wife, Darla; and son, Anthony Guy Kamm. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Schaub; children, Christina (Bryan) Machinski, Michael (Deneil) Kamm, and Suzette (Lance) Eipperle; stepsons, Stephen (Eve) Schaub, and Christopher (Laura) Schaub; grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie) Machinski, Chad Machinski (Murphy Harrington), Courtney (Tyler) Finn, Sydney Kamm, Jacob Kamm, and Alaina Eipperle; stepgrandchildren, Greta, Ilsa, and Rachel Schaub; and great-grandchildren, Ronan, Declan, and Killian Machinski.
