Kenneth Norman Earl, Sr., 80, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his home beside his beloved wife. He was born in Toledo to Norman and Orianna (Butts) Earl on December 5, 1942. Ken graduated from Rogers High School and completed his cosmetology class to become a hairdresser. Ken worked for multiple salons including La Salles and Gina’s, before switching careers to begin working at General Motors for over 32 years. While working on the line, Ken was known as Weeping Willow. He was an avid fan of the University of Michigan and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, and riding motorcycles with his wife and son. Ken always enjoyed eating fresh walleye or perch, and especially loved his wife’s fried chicken.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Karis Earl; son, Kennith, Jr. (Jennifer) Earl; grandson, Emmit Earl; Christian Brothers and Sisters, Rudy (Jess), Miques (Mary), Tom (Heather); many more of Jehovah’s friends; and many extended family members, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623. Visitation will continue Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A procession will then lead everyone to Ottawa Hills Memorial Park for the Committal Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall, 740 N. McCord Road, Toledo, OH 43615, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
