Kenneth “Ken” Dilmore, 81, passed away on April 26, 2022. He was born on August 21, 1940, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to Harold Edwin Dilmore and Rodella Hazel Keller Dilmore. Ken married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Emery, in 1962.
Ken graduated with honors from Bridgeton High School in 1958 and from Goldey College in Wilmington, DE, in 1960. After graduation, he worked for E.I. DuPont as an accountant in Wilmington, DE. Then, he worked for Owens-Illinois, Inc., in Bridgeton, NJ. Ken transferred to Toledo, Ohio, in 1967.After 38 years, Ken retired as a Manager of Financial Analysis and Accounting-International Operations in 2001.
Ken proudly served in the New Jersey Army National Guard for 6 years. While at Fort Dix, he was a personnel specialist and a battalion payroll master. He is a member of the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post 587.
Ken loved genealogy and took great pride in his patriots who served in the Revolutionary War. He is a member of the John Hancock Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Ken served as President, Vice President, Genealogist, and Treasurer of his chapter.
Ken was a huge sports fan. In his youth, he played baseball and had tryouts with the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees. He was a starter on his college basketball team. He was a lifelong Yankees fan. He enjoyed attending Toledo Mud Hens and Cleveland Indians games. He also liked to attend University of Toledo basketball games.
He was a loving father and husband. Ken is survived by his wife, Patricia Dilmore; his daughter, Lisa Dilmore; his godchild, Linda Frasco McGuigan; his cousins, Ruth George, Susan Keenan, and Carolyn McKnight. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanford and Hazel Keller; and his aunt and uncle, Mary and Richard Frasco.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue (west of Corey Road), where visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. The funeral can be viewed via live stream starting at 11:55 a.m., Saturday by clicking on the Tribute Wall on this page. Military honors provided by the United States Army and interment will follow the funeral at Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Ken’s memory to the Cherry Street Mission Ministries of Toledo or the Salvation Army.
