Kenneth C. Bud Harris, 76, of Lakeside, Ohio and Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Kenneth was born on September 10, 1932 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy Closson Harris. Ken was a graduate of Danbury High School in 1950 and Ohio Wesleyan University in 1954. He completed his MBA and PhD work at The Ohio State University in 1960. On September 03, 1955, Bud married June Whitehouse. He served in the U.S. Air Force at the Lockbourne base from 1955 to 1957. Ken worked in Columbus, Ohio as C.E.O. of Redemtech, a division of Microcenter and as a Vice President of O.C.L.C. He was a founder of the Gold Circle Division of Federated Department Stores. Bud will be remembered by all who knew him as a person who loved his family and his life. He was never without a great story and he always made the most of each day. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years: June, of Lakeside and Hilton Head; daughters: Cynthia J. Harris of Columbus, Ohio, Susan E. Jim Raphael of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Jennifer L. Bob Clark of Marysville, Ohio and Amy J. Dr.Steven Sherman of Cary, North Carolina. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Kaitlin, Michael, Daniel and Thomas Raphael; Emily and Zachary Clark; Olivia, Eddie and Cynthia Sherman. His sisters, Patricia Addleman, Marilyn Hutchinson and Eleanor Beadle survive as well. A Celebration of Kenneths life will be held on the lakefront in Lakeside, Ohio, on June 14, 2009, at 1:30P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lakeside Association childrens programs or to the Rhein Center for the Living Arts in Lakeside, Ohio 43440.
