Kenneth C. Bell Kenneth C. Bell, age 91, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born on February 7, 1926, in Wooster, Ohio to Clinton and Edith (McComas) Bell. He graduated valedictorian of his high school class in Lambertville, MI. He proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the United States Navy and was deployed on a minesweeper in the North Atlantic. He received his undergraduate degree from Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University) in Cleveland and his MBA from the University of Michigan. Ken was an insurance agent retiring at the age of 90 from C & D Insurance Agency. He was a member of Collingwood Presbyterian Church where he met and married his wife, Barbara, of 55 years. As a member of Gideon’s International, he passed out Bibles outside of local Toledo schools. At one point he served as Master of his Masonic Lodge in Samaria, MI. He was a giving and beloved husband, devoted and involved dad, loving and faithful grandpa, avid bridge player, loyal Detroit Tigers fan, and ardent U of M football fan. He was a self-taught vitamin and health guru, which served him and his family well for decades. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons, Douglas Bell of Los Angeles, CA and James (Kirsten) Bell of Chicago, IL; daughter, Judith (Matthew) Bell of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Lukas, Rebekah, Jonathan, Andrew and Annika; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Durward, Boyd, Leona (Dewey) and John. Family and friends may visit from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Ave., on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Funeral services will take place at 11am on Thursday at Collingwood Presbyterian Church, 2108 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo 43620 where the family will greet visitors beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors. Memorials in Kenneths name may be sent to Collingwood Presbyterian Church.
