Kemal Onat

Kemal Mike Onat, born October 22, 1939 in Ankara, Turkey, youngest son of Musa and Feride Onat. Kemal travelled to the United States at the age of 21 to attend college and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. After graduating, Kemal pursued a career in electrical engineering at companies in the Toledo area including Itil and Associates, and AC Leadbetter and Sons. While with the Leadbetter company, Kemal traveled to many corners of the world as VP of Engineering to oversee glass engineering projects. In 1988, Kemal successfully founded his own company, Alpha -Tec and operated as Alpha Tecs President for 20 years. Alpha-Tec operated as a consulting and contracting firm throughout the United States specializing in steel plant installations and construction. Kemal was an avid sports enthusiast, loving football and soccer and the general celebration of life. During his years at the University of Toledo he and fellow classmates founded the first soccer team for UT. He also loved tennis and golf and enjoyed numerous hours on the golf courses playing with friends around Toledo, and throughout the United States. Kemal is survived by his children Chimi Onat-Texeira Robert, Jr. and Brock Onat Vicki , three loving grandchildren, Hannah, Erin and Victoria, and former wife Sema Onat, Brothers Vahit and Selahattin, and sisters Hatice Kiratli, and Mesude Eren many nieces, nephews and many friends throughout the US. and the world. The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Kemals life on Saturday April 27, 2013 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Maison-Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio.
