In Loving Memory of Kelly Jo Wright
January 18, 1963 – July 9, 2025
Kelly Jo Wright, 62, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy
defined by love, laughter, generosity, and devotion to family, friends, and community.
A proud graduate of Perry High School, Kelly went on to earn her associate degree in
computer programming from Columbus State Community College—an achievement she
pursued while working full time. Her 38-year career as a personal computer technician
at Nationwide Insurance was marked by dedication and excellence, but her proudest
role came after retirement: spending cherished time with her family and exploring the
country in her RV with her beloved husband, Chuck, and their faithful dog, Cooper.
Kelly married Chuck on October 14, 1989, in Powell, Ohio, and together they built a life
filled with adventure, purpose, and unconditional love. Their 36-year marriage was the
bedrock of a home that welcomed all. Whether scrapbooking with dear friends, camping
under the stars, or trying new breweries and wineries with her family, Kelly’s passion
for life was contagious. She often scrapbooked on the road while Chuck drove, crafting
beautiful memories every step of the way.
Her kindness extended beyond her loved ones—Kelly was an Operation Feed
coordinator in Columbus, working tirelessly to help feed the homeless. She faithfully
attended both Sylvania United Methodist Church and Lorain Lighthouse Methodist
Church, uplifting others through her service and faith and was also a part of a life
group at Lorain as well.
Kelly’s greatest joy came from being a mother. She was endlessly proud of her
daughters, Taylor (Jacob) and Melissa, and she eagerly anticipated becoming a
grandmother. Her move to Sylvania was fueled by a desire to be closer to them and
renovate her new home—a dream she was excited to fulfill.
Kelly will be remembered for her radiant smile, generous spirit, infectious positivity, and
unwavering support for those around her. She gave freely of herself to friends,
strangers, and anyone in need. She is survived by her loving husband, Chuck;
daughters, Taylor (Jacob) and Melissa; mother, Carol Beard; and brother, Rick (Ingrid).
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard C. Beard; and grandparents, Regina
and Richard Beard and Tom and Mary Diss.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Walker
Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM.
Interment will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Sunset Hills Burial Park in
Canton, OH at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Sylvania United
Methodist Church or Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Kelly’s honor.
Her warmth, wisdom, and light will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
