Kelly Kohler

February 25, 1968 — February 14, 2023

Kelly Kohler (Hedrick) - loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed into the arms of her savior on February 14, 2023, after a short and unexpected battle with cancer. If asked, Kelly would promptly and happily tell you her greatest accomplishment was being a mom to her four daughters and raising them to be strong faith-filled women, but that was not her only accomplishment. Kelly graduated valedictorian from Norwalk St. Paul’s in 1986. She then continued her education at the University of Toledo and graduated magna cum laude with her BSN. She was a respected Pediatric RN for ten years. Kelly loved her work but made the decision to stay home and homeschool her girls, making many special memories and traditions over the years. She enjoyed learning and became a passionate educator. Her homeschooling inspired her to teach college nursing classes and eventually go back to school herself. Kelly earned her MSN- Family Nurse Practitioner. She went on to work as a NP in ENT, where she invested her whole heart into caring for her patients and building relationships that went well beyond the ordinary. Her brilliance was recognized by winning the Best of Toledo 2022 Nurse Award.

Throughout her life, Kelly remained centered in her faith, becoming a luminous reflection of Christ to all those she encountered. She was often found volunteering and leading within many of her favorite organizations.

Even during her battle with cancer, Kelly fully devoted her life to being the best wife, mom and grandmother she could be. Her grandkids will remember their Nana for being the best hug giver, snuggler, ear checker, game player, and cook. She was so patient in listening to their many stories and answering their many, many, many questions. Her kids will remember her for being their greatest advocate and strongest defender, a safe spot to land, an enthusiastic listener, and the best provider of real talk. Her husband will remember her for being his best friend and helping him to become the best version of himself.

Kelly is survived by her husband, Tim; her daughters, Faye (Paul) Smith, Kathleen (Lukas) Montion, Julia (Nolan) Foster, and Colleen (Clay) Kingan; her parents, Peggy Heydinger and Ralph (Karen) Hedrick; her brother, David (Lisa) Hedrick; her sister, Kaylin (Brian) Pickering; her eleven grandchildren, Blaise, Kohl, May, Thomas, Charles, Sophia, Heidi, Raelyn, Elijah, Augustine, and Blake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kelly is preceded in death by her stepfather, Thomas Heydinger.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee (419-893-7686).
