Kells L. Pugh, Jr., 77, of Genoa, OH died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Foundation Park Alzheimers Care Center, Toledo, OH. He was born on May 14, 1934 in Columbus, OH to Kells L. and Gladys I. McCaskey Pugh, Sr. but lovingly raised by Aunt Glee & Uncle Oscar Lind. He graduated from Clay High School and attended Macomber High School for auto mechanics. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard. On December 18, 1953 in Port Clinton, OH he married Joan L. Klawitter and she survives. Kells was a workaholic. He and Joan were involved in many local business enterprises throughout his lifetime. He worked the last 20 years tirelessly and silently assuring the smooth daily operation and growth of Jans Packer Creek Pottery business. He was a past member of Firelands Presbyterian Church in Port Clinton. He was a member and past commodore of the Port Clinton Yacht Club, a member of the Moose Lodge #1610 in Port Clinton, and a member of the Elks Lodge #1718 in Port Clinton. Kells loved antique cars and boating and fixing. In addition to his loving wife Joan of 58 years, Kells is survived by son: Jon Julie Pugh of New Smynra Beach, Fl, daughter: Jan Jon James Pugh of Graytown, OH, and 2 grandchildren: Jena & James Kells Jake Pugh. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Suzanne Booth. Dad, as he was known to all of Jans customers of Packer Creek Pottery, was always in the backroom putting together lamps, clocks and anything else requiring mechanical expertise and keeping the equipment operating. Everyone will remember Dad and Mom at Crosby Gardens Festival of the Arts with Jan every summer. The family deeply appreciates the compassionate care and respect shown to our father during his final days by everyone at the Foundation Park Alzheimers Care Center. Thank you all! Kells a mentor and teacher to all will always be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, his engineering prowess, his thrill of the sale, and his loving devotion to his bride Joanie.
