Kelli G. Andres, 51, of Sylvania, died peacefully on June 12, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice following an extended battle with breast cancer. Born October 9, 1964 in Roseville, MI, Kelli graduated from Sandusky High School and earned her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo. She was employed for several years as the Special Events/Communications Director with the American Cancer Society and later served as Marketing Coordinator at The Toledo Zoo. Prior to devoting her time to her family as a homemaker, Kelli also worked at the University of Toledo. A gregarious woman of faith and action, Kelli was committed to selfless service to care for the needs of others. As a 39-year survivor of childhood cancer, she gave inspirational talks to children and their families diagnosed with cancer. A member of Little Flower Catholic Church, she taught religious education and assisted with the confirmation program. Kelli served on the board of the American Cancer Society and Ronald McDonald House, was the EXCEL Award recipient for 1996 from the Greater Toledo Convention and Visitors Bureau and received the Twenty Under 40 Leadership Award in 2000. Kelli was active with the Komen Foundation and raised thousands of dollars with her Confections for the Cure and other efforts. She was on the Pink Honor Roll three times and the 2013 Race for the Cure was run in celebration of Kelli Andres. She was an Honorary Bat Girl for the Cleveland Indians in 2012. Her family was always first and Kelli was fully devoted to her boys activities and interests including with the Highland HPO as treasurer and with the Science Olympiad. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 25 years, Van Andres; beloved sons, Patrick Robert and Noah David; her father and step mother, David and Madeline Gibson; sisters, Janet (Jim) Sears, Mary (Paul) Fowler, Kristin (Mark) Brooks and Ellen (Fred) Rohrbacher; mother in law, Nancy Andres; and brothers in law, Jude (Shana) and Joe Andres; nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine (DuShane) Lentz; and father in law, Robert Andres. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St., Toledo, followed by funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends suggest contributions be made directly to the Andres family for future college expenses of Patrick and Noah.
