Keith E. Baird, Jr.

Keith E. Baird, Jr., 73, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Heartland in Perrysburg with his loving family by his side. He was born in Galion, Ohio to Isabelle (Foltz) and Keith E. Baird, Sr. on August 3, 1944. Keith graduated from Penn State University and attended International Business College in Ft Wayne, IN. He retired in 2007 as Chief Deputy for the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department where he worked for over 30 years. He spent over 35 years with the love of his life, Helen L. Gerschutz, who survives him. Keith was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and was a volunteer for the Helping Hands program. Keith is survived by his fiancée, Helen; her children, David (Vicki) Gerschutz, Vicki (David) Wilhelm, Cindy (Russ Perham) Theigs, Paula (Todd) Vogel, Paulette (Tim) Oser, Jamie (Nickey) Gerschutz; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Baird. Friends will be received on Monday, February 5, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, with a Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Memorial contributions in Keith’s name may be made to Helping Hands of St. Rose or to Heartland Hospice.
