It is with great sadness the family of Katie Lehmann, age 73, of Perrysburg, OH, announce her passing on Saturday, November 20, 2021 due to COVID-19. She was born on April 30, 1948, in Marfa, Texas to the late Carlos and Luisa (Aguirre) Valverde. Katie married the love of her life, Bryan Lehmann, on July 8, 1968. Katie was a licensed Cosmetologist which led her to a successful Shih Tzu breading and grooming adventure for many years – including 15 of her own Shih Tzus. She was highly regarded as ‘Mother Nature’s Sister’ bringing life to plants and flowers from exotic to the common. Her playground was a lush backyard oasis featuring a natural koi pond, countless mini gardens with plants and flowers she nurtured with Bryan. Katie was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who embraced every moment with them. She was everything to everyone and her vivacious personality always made people smile, laugh, and find joy in life. Katie was a woman of countless talents and enjoyed all aspects of life from Classic Rock Music, Pottery, Remodeling, and Painting to Cooking, Walking, Traveling, Shopping and everything in between. She celebrated extended family through social media and searching ancestry records. Katie was truly a one-of-a-kind person who was loving, selfless, and had a giving nature with an infectious laugh and most beautiful smile. Katie will be forever remembered by her loving husband of 53 years, Bryan; daughters, Milissa (Joseph) Clark and Kelly (Andy) McMullen; grandson, Lincoln McMullen; siblings, Luis (Angelina) Herrera, Otilia Thompson, Mary Lou (Catarino) Escobedo, Pauline (Joe) Rivas, Carlos Jr. (Janice) Valverde, Jesse Valverde, Bernardo Valverde, and Ramona (Milo) Diaz. Katie was preceded in death by her daughter Millicent Lehmann; her son, Max Lehmann; and brothers, Nolberto and Ruben Valverde. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 PM, Saturday, November 27, 2021, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E Front St, Perrysburg, the Rev. Monsignor Charles Singler presiding. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. Light refreshments following. Contributions in her name are suggested to the church.
