Kathy L. Burmeister, age 83, formally of Gibsonburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Kathy was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School in 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Howard Whetsel, brothers Howard “Joe” Whetsel, Ronnie Whetsel and Darrell Whetsel. Surviving is sister, Rosalie Arndt of Perrysburg, Ohio, sons Todd (Monica) Burmeister of Gibsonburg, Ohio, and Robb (Mary) Burmeister of Burgoon, Ohio, daughters Beth Anne (Steve) Brand and Amy (Rob) Little of Genoa, Ohio, 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Kathy had a vast knowledge of weights & measures, agriculture and the transportation industry due to her past experience working scale houses at the lime plant and grain elevator, farming and the business owner of Burmeister Trucking. She also managed a grocery store, before her final employ and retirement from Davidson Trucking, both of Bradner, Ohio. In addition, for many years she clerked for Brubaker Auctions on the weekends. In her spare time, she passionately cared for her landscaping and would only play a slot machine at Max Bet. She had numerous adventures on her BMW motorcycle riding in the Rocky Mountains, Florida and the bordering states of Ohio.
The family wishes to thank all of the care givers at Genoa Retirement Village for the loving care provided. Family, friends and those who cared for Kathy will be notified of a memorial luncheon at a later date. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.
