Kathryn L. Schreuder

Kathryn Kathy L. Schreuder, 83, of Genoa, died early morning on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Manor at Perrysburg. Kathy was born October 17, 1930, in Martin, Ohio, to Clarence C. and Clara E. Tabbert Parlette. On July 18, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, she married Hendrick William Bill Schreuder, who preceded her in death August 16, 1999. For 24 years Kathy worked at Roberts Toledo Rubber Co. as a secretary. She also worked as a bookkeeper for 16 years at Samsen Furniture in Genoa. In December 1988 Kathy opened Country Manor Crafts in her home in Genoa. She held classes for both acrylic and oil painting until 2007. Since 1964 Kathy had been an active member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. She started and directed two bell choirs for several years. She also directed a cherubs choir and sang with the senior choir for 40 years. She wrote and directed numerous Choir Capers and Sunday School programs. Kathryn is survived by her son, Mark Sandi Schreuder, daughters, Amy John Klinger and Jennifer Mark Jackson all of Genoa; grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan and Jacob Schreuder, Amanda, Allison, Andrew and Avin Klinger, and Ben and Katie Jackson; brother, Clarence Parlette of Martin and sister-in-law, Doris Parlette of Toledo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, infant son, John, and brothers, Harold, Marvin and Bill Parlette. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2013, at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown. The family has suggested that memorials for Kathy be directed to St. Johns UCC Organ Fund, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, OH 43430.
