Kathryn L. Price of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 15, 2017, at the Riverview Healthcare Campus. Kathryn was born to Carl and Mabel (Ernsthausen) Giesler at their rural Elmore farm on April 1, 1927. She learned her strong work ethic growing up on the family farm. Kathryn graduated from Harris-Elmore High School, where she served as The Class of 1945 Secretary. She began her secretarial career as an executive secretary at Owens-Illinois for five years, then worked at Erie Ordnance Depot before retiring to start a family with the love of her life, Robert R. Price. Bob and Kathryn were married on June 26, 1948, and built a home together on State Route 105 along the Portage River. Kathryn returned to work with a position at United Services Federal Credit Union in Toledo while also serving as bookkeeper for E. S. Price and Son Lumber Company, until Robert passed away in 1978. Later she worked with her daughter at J J Country Creations until 1997. Throughout her life she was active in numerous organizations including: The March of Dimes, The American Lung Association, The American Cancer Society and was a lifetime volunteer of Riverview Nursing Home Auxiliary delivering mobile meals for many years. Kathryn was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and past president of the Junior Womens Guild. She also served many years as a bloodmobile volunteer with The American Red Cross. Kathryn enjoyed her cottage, playing cards with friends, crossword puzzles, and sports, especially football. She had a green thumb in the garden, was a wonderful baker and loved traveling. She was in Washington, D.C. on 9/11. Kathryn is survived by her son, Clark (Carol) Price, and daughter, Jane (Edward) Gahler. She was extremely proud of her six grandchildren, Lindsay (Adam) Lohman, Brice (Amber) Gahler, Ryan (Brecken) Price, Janene (Jared) Lattimore, Kelsey Gahler, and Morgan (Andrew) Hopkins, and her eight great grandchildren gave her great joy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous life-long friends. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, brothers, Gilbert Giesler and Harold Giesler, and sisters, Marion Puse, Frances Draeger and Eileen Miller.
