Kathryn A. Novak

Kathryn A. Novak, age 75, of Maumee passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee, Ohio. She was born on December 9, 1942 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to John D. and Katherine A. (Berkovich) Detelich. Kathy attended Kent State University for her Bachelors Degree and continued at Westminster College for her Masters Degree in Special Education. She started her teaching career in Brookfield, Ohio and later taught in Maumee. Kathy was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. There she held various offices and chaired the annual spaghetti dinner for numerous years. Kathy was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for both of her children and was well known for her giving personality and kind heart. Kathy is survived by her husband, Ronald; son, Ron Novak; daughter, Kathleen (Patrick) Farley; grandchildren, Isaac, Penny, Josie and brother, John (Andrea) Detelich. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with the Rosary to be recited at 7:30 pm. Prayers will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, February 5, 2018 in the funeral home with the funeral mass to follow at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio.
