Kathryn Hinojosa

Kathryn Ann Hinojosa, 75, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was born in Bellevue, OH to Leonard J. and Marcia (Metzger) Gerber on September 17, 1949. Kathy struggled with her health for over half her life, but she never lost her faith. She was a strong and courageous woman who focused on the positive every day. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking in her younger years while she was able. Kathy could always be found relaxing and enjoying a football game on the T.V., especially her favorite, Notre Dame. Her grandchildren were her biggest joys in life. Being an animal lover, Kathy had numerous dogs throughout her life.

Kathy is survived by her children, Allen (Richard) Ortman, Amy (Shawn) Finnegan; grandchildren, Justice and Aydan Ortman, Maggie and Lucy Finnegan; siblings, Gregg (Joanne) Gerber, Len (Sylvia) Gerber; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 2, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623, where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a local animal shelter.
