Kathryn L. "Renee" Bailey

February 16, 1934 — November 11, 2024

Kathryn L. Bailey, affectionately known as Renee, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 11, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born on February 16, 1934 to Frances and George Stevens in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from Woodward High School Renee met and married the love of her life, Charles Bailey. They were happily married for almost 70 years.

Renee’s love of medicine and helping others led her to pursue a career in nursing. She worked at the Family Medical Center for many years, where she was well respected by physicians, nurses, and, most importantly, patients. She was such a gifted nurse that it was not unusual for physicians to call her at home for a second opinion. After her retirement, Renee continued helping others by volunteering at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.

Renee was devoted to her church. She loved working in the kitchen at the Greek American Festival with her mother and sisters. Renee belonged to the Ladies Philoptochos Society and enjoyed traveling with the Young at Heart members. She found pleasure in growing vegetables in her garden, canning, bird watching and listening to country music. She also enjoyed knitting beautiful afghans for the family which are treasured. Renee took many trips to Tennessee to visit family and friends. The Great Smoky Mountains were one of her favorite places.

Renee was always there when you needed her, to lend a helping hand, share her wisdom and make you smile. She had such wonderful stories and memories of growing up with her brothers and sisters in the old North End of Toledo. She faithfully served God, her family, and all who knew her. Renee will be remembered for her sharp wit, beautiful smile, great sense of humor, and feisty spirit. She was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Renee is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie, parents, brothers and sisters, and a myriad of family and friends who welcomed her home. She is survived by many generations of nieces and nephews. May her memory be eternal.

Renee’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Landings of Oregon and Careline Hospice for their compassion and kindness provided to our beloved Aunt Renee.
