Kathryn L. Allegrini

Kathryn L. Allegrini, age 72, passed away on April 4, 2016 at Heartland of Waterville. She was born March 21, 1944 to Albert and Anna Ruth Scales in Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated from St. Joseph Academy. After High School she received her nurses training at the St. Francis School of Nursing. She devoted many years to serving the community as a registered nurse in surgery at Flower Hospital until her retirement in 2005. Kathy loved God, family and Ohio State. She had a tremendous sense of family and helping others, putting others needs before her own, though all bets were off when it came to competition -she wanted to win no matter what. It was this fierce competitive nature that kept her strong through a five year battle of illness. She enjoyed playing slots (always winning the casinos money), playing cards with family, traveling, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Jerry Brown. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Larry; children, Beth Allegrini, and Scott (Anna) Allegrini; sisters, Ruth Ann (Trent) Usher, Dorothy Brown, and Patricia Clark; brothers, Bill (Marcia) Scales, and John (Debbie) Scales; threegrand children; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH from 2-8 PM, with a prayer service at 7PM. A funeral Mass will be held at 11AM on Friday, April 8 at Little Flower Parish, 5522 Dorr St, Toledo, OH. Interment will be private. Memorials are suggested to an organization of the donors choosing.
