Kathleen J. Voigt, age 82, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 while residing at Otterbein Monclova. She was born May 30, 1933 to Martha and Earl Rude. Kathleen went to DeVilbiss High School and attended the University of Michigan where she graduated with a Masters degree in Library Science. After her husband Emil came back from the Korean War, Kathleen and Emil married on December 17, 1955. They were high school sweethearts. Together, they raised two daughters, Janelyn (Mark) and Heidi (Daniel). Kathleen had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to enjoy life. Kathleen and Emil spent summer days with the family up at their cottage at Round Lake. Their grandchildren Tyler and Emily (Janelyn) and Hope and Hannah (Heidi) have many fond memories of their days at the cottage. Their grandchildren Hannah, Owen, Cullen, and Nola (Heidi and Dan) best remember grandma for her loving heart. During her adult life, Kathleen worked for the Carlson Library at University of Toledo as Professor of Library Science. When she retired, she became Grandma Kathleen at Gateway School playing music and providing snacks for the children. Visitation for Kathleen will be at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) on Friday from 12:00-2:00 PM where services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday.
