Kathleen Ann Snyder

Kathleen “Kathy” Snyder passed away surrounded by her loving family and dear friends this past weekend, January 14th, 2023.

On September 29th, 1952, Kathy was born in Toledo, OH to Dr Frank and Marguerite (Bayer) Foss and grew up in the Old West End. She graduated from St Ursula Academy (Class of ‘70) and completed her collegiate studies at Toledo University. After graduating, Kathy began her career as a laboratory technician at St Vincent’s Medical Center. Because of her hard work and dedication, she was asked to join the staff at the Endocrine & Diabetes Care Center where she drew blood for a few years. She was then selected to further her role by establishing their lab from the ground up.

Kathy took every opportunity to bring family and friends together. It was this spirit that led Kathy to meet her husband, Timothy Snyder, through the Catholic Alumni Club where they shared a strong commitment to faith, family, and fun. Some of Kathy’s favorite pastimes included family games, telling stories, basket weaving, scrapbooking, and card making.

Retiring early at the age of 64, only a few people really knew how much constant physical pain Kathy went through for the last 6 years. And then, not being able to stand up the last 3 months, Kathy decided to spend her last days at home with her loving husband, children, and grandchildren.

After 41 years of marriage, Kathy and Tim had three children Matthew (Andrea) Snyder, Kathryn (Seth) Dickman and Andrea (Jeffrey) Schak; and were blessed with 10 grandchildren Ryan Marie, Nathanael, Emma, Nolan, Alexander, Avery Marie, Evelyn, Elijah, Wesley, and Calvin. She is also survived by her siblings Frank (Gayle) Foss, Kevin (Barbara) Foss, Michael (Becky) Foss, and Carol (Kurt) McCammon.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Patrick.

A visitation will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH, on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 2-8 p.m. Kathy’s funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St., Toledo. Interment will follow. Donations may be made out to Lial Elementary School, 5700 Davis Rd., Whitehouse, OH, 43571, in Kathy’s memory.
