Kathleen Ann Metzger

Kathleen Ann Metzger, age 61, passed away October 26, 2015 at her Toledo home with loving family by her side. She was born February 11, 1954 in Toledo to the late Richard and Jane (Mullen) Doolin. She married Michael Metzger on Oct. 17, 1981 and he lovingly survives. Also left to cherish her memory are her children, Jennifer (Andrew Nicoson) Metzger and Richard (Jessica Hively) Metzger; brother, Richard (Marsha) Doolin; niece, Michelle Wheeler; and nephew, John (Lori) Polcyn. Kathy attended Woodward High School and graduated from the former St. Claire Academy. She earned her Bachelors degree in business from Sienna Heights University. Kathy worked in customer service for more than 34 years with ATT, Verizon and most recently TARTA. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and the West Toledo Kiwanis Club. In her free time, Kathy enjoyed traveling (especially to the Bahamas), visiting a casino anywhere, playing BINGO and working in her yard. She will be remembered as a supportive and caring mother and for the strength and courage she displayed throughout her illness. Kathy was an angel who loved children and bringing a smile and a ray of sunshine to the face of others. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.), where a scripture service and sharing of memories will take place at 8:30 p.m. Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday with prayers at 10:15 a.m. and proceed to Little Flower Church, 5562 Dorr St., for Kathys funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
