Kathleen J. Butler, age 89, of Monclova, Ohio passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 in the Elizabeth Scott Nursing Home. She was born June 13, 1921 in Akron, Ohio to Robert B. and Ethel Emery Jones. Kathleen served in the US Army during WWII as a nurse in England. After the war, she was employed as a registered nurse at various hospitals for 25 years. Kathleen then co-owned with husband, Paul, the former Butler Jewelers in Maumee. After Kathleen retired she enjoyed traveling. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Maumee and current member of Providence Lutheran Church in Holland. Kathleen was also a member of the Maumee American Legion Auxiliary. The widow of Paul L. Butler, Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Pam Joe Hardy of Monclova, OH; granddaughter, Libby David LaPlante; great grandchildren, Ally, London and Chase LaPlante; God-daughter Diana Dokken of Gainesville, GA and her children Hobie and Paul Anthony and Amanda Alford and her children Georgia and Winnie; sister, Carolyn Russell Bretz and sister-in-law, Ilene Jones. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Jones. Per Kathleens request, her body was donated to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at Brandywine Country Club 6904 Salisbury Road Maumee, OH 43537.
