Kathleen Ann Barchick passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 26 at the Mercy Sylvania Medical Center. Kathy was born in South Bend, Indiana on September 16, 1954 to Chester and Vivian (Prentkowski) Kolber. She was a graduate of Holy Family Grade School, St. Joseph High School Class of 1972 and Butler University School of Pharmacy Class of 1977. She practiced pharmacy for many years in retail and community outpatient settings, but later gave up her career to support and take care of her family. She married the love of her life, David Barchick on September 15, 1984 at St. Anthony De Padua in South Bend. They moved to Toledo and together they raised two incredible sons. Over the years she and her family also lived in Shelbyville, Indiana and Cheshire, United Kingdom. Kathy made friends wherever she lived. She was a loving, and caring wife, daughter, mother, sister and friend. All who knew her will miss her greatly. She is survived by her parents, Chester and Vivian, husband, Dave, sons, Stephen and Matthew, brother, Chris (Barb) of Wadsworth, Illinois, sister, Sharon (Gerry Burkard) of Heber City, Utah, and mother-in-law, Joan Barchick. She also leaves behind many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews who will cherish her in memory. Those who knew and loved Kathy are invited to come celebrate her life and provide comfort to her family on Thursday, June 30 from 2-8 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) Kathy’s sisters from the Little Flower CHRP retreat will lead the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Reverend David Nuss will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 1 at 11:00 am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio. The Family suggests in lieu of flowers, any memorial tributes be to the Little Flower Seeds of Faith Campaign or to St. John’s Jesuit High School.
