Karis Earl

Karis Kay Earl, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, surrounded by love and family.

Born on January 25, 1941, Karis lived a full and vibrant life. She spent over 40 years as a dedicated hairstylist, a career she loved deeply. Her passion for her craft led her to open and operate her own salon, Karis' Hair Design, where she built a loyal clientele and many lasting friendships. It was during cosmetology school that she met the love of her life, Kenneth, who would become her lifelong partner not just in marriage, but in countless shared adventures.

Karis was a hardworking woman who poured her heart into everything she did. Outside of the salon, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing on Lake Erie with Kenneth and their family, tending to her garden, and solving crossword puzzles. Traveling with her son to cheer him on at BMX races during his youth created many cherished memories.

Karis will be remembered for her warmth, her strong work ethic, and the way she made people feel beautiful both inside and out.

Karis is survived by her son, Kennith, Jr. (Jennifer) Earl; grandson, Emmit Earl; Christian Brothers and Sisters, Rudy (Jess), Miques (Mary), Tom (Heather); many more of Jehovah’s friends; and many extended family members, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and parents.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 7, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623. Visitation will continue Friday, August 8, at the funeral home from 11 am- 12 pm. A procession will then lead everyone to Ottawa Hills Memorial Park for the Committal Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall, 740 N. McCord Road, Toledo, OH 43615, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
