Karin Lee Perozek, 41, of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 with her devoted husband by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 2, 1970 to Paul J. and Janice (Pocisk) Gurtzweiler. Karin graduated from St. Rose Catholic School and it was there in the 6th grade that she met her future husband, Timothy Perozek. She was a graduate of Perrysburg High School and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame. She married the love of her life, Timothy Perozek on June 25, 1994 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg where as a young girl, her deep faith began. She was a very spiritual person, journaling her deepest thoughts and praying to her Heavenly Father of whom she always felt His loving arms. Karin had a deep love for children. Some of her greatest loves were the times she had with all her nieces and nephews. She talked, texted, and Skyped with them on a nearly daily basis. She carried this love on by being a Big Sister in Nevada and even co-wrote a children's book. While still living in the Perrysburg area, she was a K-8 Art teacher for Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and a volunteer Art teacher for St. Rose Catholic School. She also worked for NBC Television network . In Colorado she co-managed a children's photography studio. Karin co-founded, See Right Now, an ophthalmology practice in Las Vegas, NV where she was currently their Coordinator of Patient Relations. Karin quietly inspired others with her graceful twenty year battle with lymphoma, breast cancer and all its' complications. She encouraged so many through the Cancer Survivor Network, The IGG Medical Therapy Support Group and chatting with friends on Facebook. She was so appreciative of all the doctors and nurses who helped take care of her. She enjoyed reading, gardening ,hiking and art . She had a special bond with all her dogs and looked forward to the Annual Gurtzweiler Farm Cookouts of which she helped plan with her dad. She is survived by her husband, Tim, mother Janice Gurtzweiler, sister Nicole Gurtzweiler, brother Keith Gurtzweiler, mother-in-law Elizabeth Perozek, sisters and brother-in-laws Liz and Eric Keener and Ed and Joy Perozek, nieces and nephews, Cooper, Myles and Paige Keener, Teddy, Jack, Ana and Liza Perozek and Jahzie and Elijah Gurtzweiler; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
