Kari Ann Mezinger, 50, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away suddenly on August 9, 2023. She was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on August 30, 1972, to her parents Richard “Rick” and Joyce (VanHoosier) Seitz, where she grew up alongside her two younger siblings. She attended Tiffin Columbian High School and upon graduating in 1990, she furthered her education and obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree from North Central State College of Nursing in Mansfield, Ohio.
Kari met her husband of 28 years, Scott Mezinger, in high school and the pair got married on July 22, 1995. Together they raised two sons, Austin and Kaine, and everyone who knew her also knew that her boys were her entire life. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother who did everything she could to support them in all that they did, and she was very protective of them and her entire family. They could always count on her to show up to their baseball games or to simply jump to their defense if needed. She was a very strong-willed woman ever since she was a child and will always be remembered for having that spark.
In her leisure time, Kari really enjoyed doing all-things crafts. She was great with photoshop, loved making blankets, and recently became fond of macramé. One of her favorite things to do was take trips down to Florida to stay with her parents at their Florida home, alongside her family vacations down to Myrtle Beach. She had two dogs who were dear to her despite her efforts not to.
Kari is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Scott Mezinger; sons, Austin and Kaine Mezinger; parents, Richard “Rick” and Joyce Seitz; siblings, Jodi (Jon) Stacy, Tony (Merissa) Seitz; nieces, Taylor and Sydney Stacy, Madden Seitz, McKayla Swinehart; nephews, Devon and Bailey Mezinger, Karter Seitz, Dylan Swinehart, Masen Seitz; mother in law, Paula Secrist; brother in law, Mike (Pam) Mezinger; sister in law, Tam (Dan) Swinehart; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis Louis and Anna-Lou Seitz.
