Karen Zipperer White, 51, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 in her home. Karen was born October 20, 1963 to Alonzo and Judith Zipperer in Merritt Island, Florida. She was a member of the 1981 graduating class of DeVilbiss High School. After high school, Karen moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana where she tutored handicapped children and provided assistance as a transportation aid. She later moved to Davie, Florida where she worked in retail and did private pet sitting. Karen loved her cats. She also collected crystal figurines, and developed a keen interest in gardening, painting, and creating other works of art. Karen had a heart of gold and loved to buy gifts for those closest to her. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Judith Pheatt and stepfather, Robert Wendt; sister, Diana Zipperer; and brother, Robert (Jane) Zipperer. She was preceded in death by her father, Alonzo Zipperer. Visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2015 beginning at 4:00 p.m. and concluded with a sharing of memories at 7:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.).
