Karen (Demeter) Vasko, 70, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on September 28, 1946 to Louis and Valeria (Kovacs) Demeter in Toledo, Ohio. Initially working as a teacher, Karen later took great pride in being a devoted homemaker and taking care of her sons. Later in life she enjoyed a second career as a travel agent. An avid traveler, Hawaii and Aruba were two of her favorite vacation spots. Karen was also a loyal Michigan football fan and enjoyed taking her family to games with her. Go Blue! Karen was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Allan J. Vasko D.D.S; and in-laws, Joseph (Pearl) Vasko. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Derek (Jennifer) Vasko D.D.S., Matthew (Catherine) Vasko M.D.; grandchildren, Shelby, Braeden, Lydia, Dustin; brother, Dr. Louis (Megan) Demeter; brother in law, David (Gail); nieces and nephews, Dane, Joel (Katie), Abigail (Rob), Bradley, Rachael (Harper); and many relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Hoeflinger- Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, Ohio on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the funeral home at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
