Karen Erla Falkenberg

Karen E. Falkenberg, age 71, of Holland, died August 30, 2017 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee. She was born June 28, 1946 in Toledo to the late Earl and Katherine (Abbott) Fisher. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Karen retired from Fifth Third Bank (formerly First National) after many years. Following retirement, she faithfully volunteered at St. Lukes Hospital. Karen enjoyed all of the friends she met in her lifetime, especially Barbara McPortland, who was dear to her. She is survived by her son, Todd Falkenberg (Susan) and granddaughter, Emma Grace; daughter, Sarah Carr (Tommy) and step grandsons, Michael, Cory and Derrick Carr; brothers, Dusty (Ellen), David (Marcia) and Bruce Fisher (Lauria); many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Parker. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where memorial services to honor Karens life will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of NW Ohio or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
