Karen K. Deshetler

Karen K. DeShetler, 49, of Genoa, Ohio, died Monday, November 6, 2017, in her residence after a short illness. Karen was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, on December 31, 1967, to Vernon C. and Rosemary H. (Brell) Phillips. Karen was an independent contractor for the Toledo Blade, delivering newspapers for the past seven years. Her days were filled with taking care of those around her including her mother and her grandchildren. She so loved her grandchildren and spent every moment of her spare time with them. She is survived by her mother, Rosemary, daughter, Brianne L. DeShetler (Kyle Torres), son David L. DeShetler, grandchildren, Riot Torres, David DeShetler and Dana Deshetler, and siblings, Mike Phillips and Rick (Amy) Phillips. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Vernon, daughter, Amanda DeShetler, and grandparents, Wayne and Helen Phillips and Henry and Amelia Brell. A memorial service will be conducted for Karen at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 18, 2017, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 9-11 A.M. on Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District, Station #36, 101 E. Sixth St., Genoa, OH 43430.
