Karen Bryant

Karen Bryant died suddenly at home Monday, January 27. Karen S. Bryant formerly Karen Bak, graduated from Bowsher High school and continued her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Karen Worked at The Toledo Hospital postpartum unit for many years, then continued her career working with moms and babies through the Midwife Clinic at Toledo Hospital. Karen retired from the ProMedica Physicians Adult Medicine Group in 2020.

Karen was always a lover of animals throughout her life. Karen especially loved dogs including her own dogs, Cecil, Duncan and Millie. They provided loving companionship and comfort for her. She spent weeks on her Uncle Chet’s farm during the summers for many years, riding horses, feeding the animals, and cuddling new litters of barn kittens. She owned her own horse when she first became a nurse and loved to ride.

Karen had a wonderfully innocent sense of humor and loved to laugh with family and friends. Her greatest joy was seeing her kids happy, being a mom and spending time her kids and grandkids. Babysitting her newest grandchild was the highlight of her week in recent days.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Bryant; and her parents, Arnold and Mary Rose Dartt. She is survived by her children, Andrew (Lexie) Bak and Jenna Bak; grandchildren, Heaven and Amelia; brother, Jeff (Rita) and sister, Diane (Michael); as well as nephews and niece, Matthew, Brendan, Shannon and Aidan; and best friends Debbie and Teri.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm in Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. Burial will be private.
